What happens when you open up your life by saying yes more often? Well, it turns out that all kinds of good things could come your way.

It’s easy to fall into a rut where we coast through the days, sticking to our comfort zones and never challenging ourselves. People might ask us to do something that makes us feel nervous, apprehensive, or anxious. We might be scared of failing. Or maybe we simply can’t be bothered – life’s tiring, and many of us are exhausted.

But life is for living, so why not shake things up by being more spontaneous, accepting a few challenges, and looking for more new opportunities?

Why saying yes matters

Using the word yes wisely and more often can be mighty powerful in work and play. Getting out of your comfort zone and stretching yourself could mean:

  • You’re more fulfilled, more interesting, and have a richer life
  • You meet more people and have more fun
  • You’ll learn, grow, and be stronger and more confident
  • You have some life-changing adventures
  • You’ll be more successful

It goes without saying that you have to be a little discerning when it comes to what you’re agreeing to. No one should be saying yes to things that are dangerous, dodgy, or downright daft – nor to things that sap your energy or that you’re just doing out of guilt. But it can be a really useful and positive way to bring a little magic into your life – something we could all do with a bit more of these days.
